Thoraco- lumbar vertebra of Varanus
i) It is similar to cervical vertebrae but it is slightly larger in size.
ii) Centrum is procoelous.
iii) Neural spine is vertical and crest-like.
iv) Hypapophysis is absent.
Anterior lumbar vertebra of Rabbit
i) It is comparatively larger in size.
ii) Centrum is stout, well developed and acoelous.
iii) Neural arch is surrounded by a prominent neural spine.
iv) Pre and post zygapophysis are absent.
Posterior lumbar vertebra of Rabbit
i) It resembles the anterior vertebra in all the structural details except that the hypapophysis is absent.
ii) Transverse processes are also flattened and broad at tips.
