6. PREPARATION AND INTERPRETATION OF NOISE HAZARDMAN

2 Min Read

APPARATUS REQUIRED

  1. Noise level meter
  2. Notebook
  3. GPS
  4. MAP
  5. Color pencil

THEORY:

A hazard is any object situation or behaivour that has the potential to cause injury or ill health. Noise hazard is an unwanted sound that may damage a person’s daily activity.

There are different cause and source of occupation that cause noise hazard like,

  1. Industrial mining
  2. Manufactoning
  3. Transportation
  4. Military
  5. Noise at work

The occupational safety and health adminstration (OSHA) sets legal units on noise exposure in the work place.

According to ICD (International labour organization) the recommended limit of noise level are:

Number of hours exposed sound level(dBA)

8 85–90

6    92

4 95

3 97

2 100

1.5 102

1 105

0.5 110

PROCEDURE:

The sound level meter was taken to the field. The measurement of the meter was fixed at a unit dBA. The time was set by FIS bottom where F is fast and S is slow. Then the measurement level was set as auto which range from 3 dBA–130 dBA. Finally reading were noted from sound level meter at the intense of 1 minute for several times.

RESULT AND DISCUSSION:

The noise hazards map was plotted from the reading and the map was coloured with different colours on the basis of intervals.

65 dB – 74dB —> Green

75dB – 84dB —> Yellow

85dB – 94dB —> Blue

95dB – 105dB —> Red

CONCLUSION:

Hence, the noise hazards may have prepared and interpreted.
