EXPERIMENTAL LOCATION

Study area: In Front of botany department season: April: (spring)

MATERIALS REQUIRED

Definite size of quadrat (50cm x50cm).

THEORY

The amount of surface area occupied by a plant as viewed from top is known as coverage. Coverage is more highly related to biomass than density or frequency. Coverage is also good for characterizing ecosystem acorn life-forms. Coverage is expressed as % of area. Therefore, the meaning of coverage of species is the same for grasses, shrubs, etc.

The percentage of coverage of species can be estimated by using the formula.

% Average Coverage (C) = Total Coverage of individual species/Total no. of quadral studied

Relative Coverage(R.C) = Coverage of individual species/Total Coverage of all species X100

Total coverage by all species.

OBSERVATION TABLE

RESULT

In terms of coverage (C), the field is being Covered by 65.

In terms of relative coverage, the field is being covered by 89.
