Comments on Heliophyllum.

i) Heliophyllum or Horn Coral is an extinct genus of coral that existed predominantly in the Devonian (408-360 MY) period.

ii) They were solitary organisms and were found in warm shallow marine water.

iii) They remain attached to the sea floor by their narrow end while

their borders depressed end called calyx faces upward.

iv) Calyx consists of a number of long tentacles.
