GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION:
It is common in himalayan region around the height of 2400 to 4500m
CHARACTERS:
i) It is commonly known as Himalayan monal or daphne.
ii) It tolerates show and digs through it to obtain plant roots and invertebrate prey
iii) It is the national bird of Nepal.
iv) It is colorful bird having average size between 60cm to 72cm
v) There is distinct sexual dimorphism.
vi) Male seem more attractive and colorful while females are duller and grayish brown.
vii) The tail feathers and uniformly rufous being darker towards the tip in male whereas the lower tail of females are white, barred with black and red.
ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE:
It helps in tourism development as it is colorful.
