REQUIREMENTS:
- GPS Tracker
- Notebooks
- Norse level meter
- Pencil
- Stopwatch
THEORY:
Sound pressure level(SPL):
It is the ratio of absolute sound pressure level and reference level. It is measured in decibel (dB).
Equivalent sound pressure level (deq):
It is average sound pressure level during the period of time. It is described as the average noise level during the noise measurement level,
It is calculated by
Where,
L1,L2,…….Ln are noise level
t1=time at l1
t2= time at l2
t3 = time at l3
tn=time at tn
tn=total time
PROCEDURE:
At first three different sites were selected to measures noise level. Name and location of the site was noted and data were taken the data of 30 minutes was taken for studies.
CALCULATION:
- For Roadside Area:
leg= 10 log10[0.083*1072-6/10+0.167*1070-3/10+0.25*1072-5/10+0.33*1011-29/10+0.41*1072-8/10+0.5*1070-9/10] /1.747
=73.54 dB
- For Residential area:
leg= 10leg10[0.083*1060-9/10+0.167*1064/10+0.25*1068-31/10+0.33*0.417*1060-5/10+0.5*1060-7/10]/1.741
= 10log10[2485171.293]
=63.95dB
- College area:
leg= 10log10[0.08*1074-3/10+0.167*1060-3/10+0.25*1067-3/10+0.33*1065-10/10+0.417*1063-3/10+0.5*1063-6/10]/1.747
= 62.226dB
RESULT AND DISCUSSION:
The sound pressure level is high at Ghantaghar and low at Chusuga. This is because Ghantaghar is on the roadside and there is continuous running of vehicles. This may also harm our ear if the noise heard is continuous.
CONCLUSION:
Hence, equivalent sound pressure of the measured data were collected.
